Databank Brokerage Ltd, Ghana's oldest fund management company, has announced a reduction in the minimum investment for its Databank Money Market Fund from ₵500 to ₵100, effective immediately.
Why This Matters
The move follows Ecobank's ₵50 minimum and signals competition among fund managers to attract smaller investors. With ₵100, a first-time investor can now access:
- Indicative returns of 24.1% p.a. (vs. 10–14% on a standard savings account)
- Same-day or T+1 redemption (daily liquidity)
- SEC Ghana regulated — assets held in trust by an independent trustee
Who Benefits?
Young professionals, students and informal sector workers who previously could not meet the ₵500 minimum can now participate. Databank is also launching a payroll deduction scheme for companies with 10+ employees, allowing staff to invest directly from their salary each month.
How to Apply
Visit any Databank branch or apply online at databankgroup.com. The digital application accepts Ghana Card for KYC and supports mobile money for funding the account. See our full Databank Money Market Fund profile for more details.
